What the Anvil Standard Means
The Anvil Standard™ is a six-step documented cleaning process built for Washington State commercial facilities. It transforms cleaning from an invisible promise into an observable, repeatable system. The six steps are Assess, Clean, Inspect, Verify, Report, and Follow Through. Each step produces evidence — not just a claim that work was done.
Assess
Before any cleaning begins, Anvil documents the facility's current scope, traffic patterns, high-touch zones, and complaint areas. This assessment establishes a factual baseline so that improvement can be measured rather than guessed at.
Clean
Cleaning is performed according to a defined scope using color-coded tools to reduce cross-zone transfer, product-label-compliant chemistry, and disciplined process controls. The cleaning is not improvised; it follows the scope established during assessment.
Inspect
After cleaning, Anvil inspects designated high-touch surfaces. Where appropriate, fluorescent markers are applied before cleaning and checked afterward to determine whether those surfaces were mechanically addressed. This step produces visual, documented evidence of coverage.
Verify
Inspection results are verified against the agreed scope. A fluorescent-marker result indicates whether a marked surface was removed, partially removed, or not removed. This verifies mechanical cleaning coverage — it does not identify pathogens, prove disinfection, or establish that a surface is safe.
Report
Findings are compiled into a documented report with observations, evidence, interpretations, and prioritized corrective actions. The report uses a structured format: Observation, Evidence, Interpretation, Recommendation, Owner, and Target Date.
Follow Through
Anvil tracks corrective actions to closure. Recurring inspections identify cleaning-coverage trends over time, allowing facility managers to address process gaps before they become complaints.
