Fluorescent-marker coverage audit of a commercial surface
    Documented Cleaning Accountability

Proof That Designated Surfaces Were Addressed.

After every cleaning visit, fluorescent-marker coverage audits and photo documentation confirm whether designated surfaces were cleaned. Missed areas trigger corrective action — all recorded in a digital findings report.

Why Visual Appearance Alone Is Insufficient

A surface can look clean under normal lighting but still have UV-visible residue or missed touchpoints. Without documented verification, you have no objective evidence of service quality.

    Appearance Is Subjective

Visual inspection alone cannot confirm whether the scope was completed.

    No Audit Trail

Without documentation, vendor performance becomes opinion against opinion.

    Missed Areas Go Unnoticed

High-touch surfaces can be overlooked without a verification step.

    No Corrective Loop

Without a documented finding, there is no trigger for corrective action.

    What Post-Clean Verification Includes

A documented inspection of designated surfaces after cleaning, using fluorescent-marker coverage audits and photo evidence.

    What's Included

    • Scope confirmation before cleaning begins
    • Fluorescent-marker coverage audits on designated surfaces after cleaning
    • Photo documentation of findings
    • Corrective-action notes for any missed areas
    • Digital findings report delivered via the Anvil Client Portal
    • Optional controlled fluorescent-marker coverage test when a pre-clean/post-clean protocol can be established

    Not Included

    • Pathogen identification or microbial testing
    • Sterilization or disinfection efficacy testing
    • Safety or compliance certification
    • Residential verification

    How Anvil Verifies Cleaning Quality

The verification process follows four steps within The Anvil Standard™.

    01

    Scope Confirmation

Before cleaning begins, we confirm which surfaces and zones are designated for service.

    02

    Cleaning Execution

Facility Hygiene Technicians perform the cleaning according to the agreed scope.

    03

    Coverage Audit

After cleaning, fluorescent-marker coverage audits verify whether designated surfaces were mechanically cleaned.

    04

    Findings Report

You receive a digital findings report with photo documentation, observations, limitations, and corrective-action notes.

    What Gets Documented

Every verification produces a digital findings report: observations, photo evidence, limitations, corrective actions, and whether designated surfaces were addressed. Fluorescent-marker coverage audits are reported as one part of Anvil's documented cleaning quality-control process.

    UV Photo 1
    Conference Room Tables
    Passed

Surfaces show no visible splatters or smears under UV inspection. Properly maintained.

    Restroom Sink Fixtures
    Needs Attention

Minor splatters detected around the base of the fixtures. Not critical, but indicates rushed cleaning.

    UV Photo 2
    Recommended Action Plan
    • Schedule a deep clean focusing on breakroom and restroom high-touch areas.
    • Implement a two-step wiping process for door handles and shared fixtures.
    • Follow up with a secondary UV verification next week.
*Fluorescent-marker inspection verifies physical/mechanical cleaning coverage of selected surfaces. It may demonstrate whether a marker was successfully removed after cleaning. It does not directly prove pathogen removal, pathogen counts, bacterial kill, viral kill, sterilization, disinfection efficacy, infection prevention, or infection outcomes.

Before You Book — Quick Answers

Does fluorescent-marker verification prove the surface is safe or pathogen-free?

No. Fluorescent-marker inspection verifies physical/mechanical cleaning coverage of selected surfaces. It may demonstrate whether a marker was successfully removed after cleaning. It does not directly prove pathogen removal, pathogen counts, bacterial kill, viral kill, sterilization, disinfection efficacy, infection prevention, or infection outcomes.

Can you verify surfaces cleaned by another vendor?

Yes. Post-clean verification can be applied to surfaces cleaned by any vendor, as long as the designated surfaces and scope are confirmed in advance.

What happens if a surface fails verification?

Missed areas are documented with photo evidence and corrective-action notes. If Anvil is the cleaning provider, the area is re-cleaned. If another vendor is involved, the report is delivered to you for action.
